Download Toshiba Strata DK, CTX, CIX, and selected IPEdge manuals in PDF. These guides include programming procedures, installation information, telephone user instructions, voicemail administration, and quick-reference documents. Toshiba produced several generations of Strata PBX systems for small businesses, larger organizations, and hospitality applications. The CTX commonly used DKT2000, DKT3000, and IPT2000 series telephones, while the CIX followed with expanded IP telephony capabilities.
Back in July 2017 Mitel acquired some of Toshiba's Unified Communications business, including their PBX systems. In October 2019 Mitel announced its phase out plan for all Toshiba PBX products, including the Strata, essentially eliminating customers from expanding their existing phone systems. Many telecom professionals now recommend planning ahead and transitioning to a totally new different phone system. Mitel ended technical support for Toshiba equipment in 2021.
For companies with Toshiba phone systems that need to expand in the future, time has come to transition to a new phone system. Unfortunately, not long ago when Toshiba decided to pull the plug on their telecom products it caused a rather quick progression towards non-expandable systems if new licensing is required. If your company falls into this category the recommendation changeover to later technology and a new PBX. Top Ten Business PBX Phone Systems

Toshiba Strata CIX systems remain in use at a limited number of U.S. hotels, particularly independent, limited-service, and older properties that have stable analog guest-room infrastructure and working PMS integrations. Although Toshiba/Mitel manufacturer support ended in 2021, some hotels continue operating CIX because the systems still provide reliable guest-room calling, front-desk operations, wake-up functions, emergency/hotline dialing, and integrations that can be expensive to replace. The primary challenges are refurbished replacement hardware and reliable, qualified CIX technicians are becoming scarcer; and older PMS software can be difficult to maintain.
The typical migration from a CIX is mixed rather than all-or-nothing. Many hotels replace the PBX/switch first while retaining the analog guest-room sets through analog gateway ports or existing room wiring, and move the front desk, administration, maintenance, and other staff to new IP phones. A complete guest-room phone replacement is more common during a property renovation. For most existing CIX hotels, keeping functional room phones while replacing the core platform reduces immediate capital expense.
